The First Nightingale International Nursing Forum was held in Hefei on Oct. 31st, 2005, whose theme is to discuss matters of vital importance for international nursing education and development. The Vice-Chairman of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation Chi Liqun and the Vice-Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Zheng Mumin attended the opening ceremony.
       

       This forum was hosted by Nightingale International Culture & Education Foundation USA and China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and was undertaken by Anhui Medical College and Anhui International Nursing College. Experts and Scholars in the circle of medical nursing   from China and all over the world deeply discussed the development of nursing career in the theme of “International Nursing Education in the 21st Century” from different viewpoints and raised the new and higher requirement.
       

       Holding the Forum is beneficial to learning and using the advanced experience of other countries for reference in the area of medical nursing and also we trend to communicate and cooperate with them in the aspects of nursing management, technology, education and talent flow etc., which is positively efficient to promote the development of our provincial nursing career.
 

       On the morning of Oct. 30th, 2005 the leaders in the departments of health, education, qiaolian etc. in Hefei Anhui province together with nursing experts in North Mountain Medical Visit Group from California, USA and with the Chairman of Nightingale International Culture & Education Foundation USA, professor Zhang Sujiu, who is the famous patriotic military officer Zhang Zhizhong’ daughter, and his native place is Wan and he has past away, unveil the Nightingale statue in Anhui International Nursing College in Hefei, Anhui province.
   

       This three-meter high Nightingale statue was established by Anhui International Nursing College and organized by Nightingale International Culture & Education Foundation USA and China Soong Ching Ling Foundation. There are more than 100 nursing experts and 2000 nurses from abroad taking part in the unveiling ceremony.
